La mise en place de la décoration commence par la construction des deux caissons latéraux qui débordent
de l'aplomb du tableau étant appuyés sur la partie arrière des soles.
The decoration of the stern begins with the construction of the caissons which extend beyond the vertical face of the stern, being supported by the back part of the quarter gallery floor plate.

Les caissons sont construits sur la base d'un "chapeau" retenu par deux courbatons contre le tableau et par
deux pieds pieds contournés de pur style Louis XV. Ces pieds s'appuient sur un débordement des soles.
The caissons are constructed around a "hat" supported by two knees fixed to the stern and two elegant curved legs in the style of Louis XV, attached to the extension of the floor plates

Il faut ensuite border entre les pieds à l'arrière et sur les cotés en façonnant un encadrement. Reste ensuite à sculpter la
partie haute des pieds pour en agrémenter l'aspect.
The next step is to in-fill between the legs at the back and the sides making a framework.  All that remains is to carve the upper part of the legs to add a bit of charm.

  
La partie centrale du tableau reçoit ensuite le cartouche et ses encadrements moulurés. Notez que les lettres sont taillées dans le bloc.
Les sabords de retraite sont également habillés de volutes et de moulures.
The central part of the stern receives its "cartouche" and its moulded border.  Note that the lettering is carved into the block. 
The stern chase gun ports are also trimmed with scrolls and mouldings.
