La partie inférieure du mât est aussi constitués de pièces assemblées grâce à des assemblages en paume visibles en bas de la photo.
Les coins servant à bloquer le mât dans son étambrai sont installés, il ne reste plus qu'a arrondir l'assemblage.
The lower part of the mast is also made up of several elements using the scarf joints visible at the bottom of the photo. 
The wedges that serve to stabilise the mast in its footing are in place.  All that remains is to round off the assembly.

 
Les coins sont maintenant arrondis, ils pourront ainsi maintenir fermement le mât dans l'étambrai.
Il est nécessaire de coller les coins sur le mât car sinon, il serait impossible de les mettre ensuite en place.
The wedges are now rounded, and will thus hold the mast firmly in its footing.  It is necessary to glue the wedges onto the mast as, otherwise,
it would be impossible to fit the whole assembly in place.

La partie supérieure du mât est garnie de ses jottereaux dont on devine l'assemblage en queue d'aronde.
Ces pièces servent à porter les "barres de long" ou longis qui elles mêmes supportent les barres de travers.
Cet ensemble est destiné à recevoir la hune.
The upper part of the mast is equipped with its cheeks on which you can clearly make out the dovetail joint.  These pieces carry the bars which support the crosstrees. This assembly will receive the top mast.

Voici un gros plan sur le cerclage des mâts ainsi que sur les roustures.
Ces fixations sont destinées à maintenir fermement les différentes pièces constituant le mât.
On pourra noter les cercles en bois qui protègent les roustures.
Here is a close up of the mast hooping and rope lashing or woolding.  These fixings would have joined and reinforced the various parts of the mast. 
Note the wooden rings that protect the lashing.
